Vet Jams is a collaborative music project of musicians and veterans.
OUR MISSION: TO PROMOTE MENTAL HEALTH IN THE VETERAN COMMUNITY AND REMOVE THE STIGMAS ASSOCIATED WITH THERAPY.

Our Story
VetJams was started by Jason and Chet while hanging out at the local 8973 VFW. They had the idea to get veterans and friends of veterans together to play music, create community, and spread the word that it's ok to go to therapy.
Originally the band started at the VFW hall uptown off Lyons st, practicing together and playing music for local veterans. Every wednesday night the band go together to work on music. Local musicians also chipped in and helped the band grow and flourish. Ed Barret, Craig Alexander, and many more came out to support and guide the band through the begining phases.
Eventually Javier Cantu and Becca Doughty came by to practice with the band and that's when the band began to solidify and find both an identify and cohesion The incredible playing of these two really rounded out the band and eventually inspired the group to move out of the VFW and into local venues across New Orleans.
The band started with the amazing support of Le Bon Temps Rouler uptown New Orleans and Pirogue's Whiskey Bayou bar in Arabi. Through the amazing support of these bars, VetJams has established themselves as a great local country and singer songwriter band advocating for mental health in our community.
Down the road, the band added new members Chris from Slidell, playing amazing original music. David our Mississippi native and amazing musician. VetJams continues to meet new veterans and friends of veterans and expand the reach of our mission and music.
